Bellflower, Nevada
For fifty-one weeks a year, it’s just another sun-baked desert town with dusty roads, half-empty bars, cheap motels, bored locals, and the long shadow of Area 51 hanging over everything.
Then August comes, and Bellflower changes.
The UFO Festival brings them in by the carload: tourists in alien apparel, conspiracy nuts with camcorders, families looking for some roadside fun, as well as grifters hoping to make a few bucks off the lights in the sky. Main Street glows with carnival bulbs, and the air smells of fried treats mixed with hot asphalt and sagebrush.
Out past the festival tents and souvenir stands, something moves through the desert. It slips through bedrooms, crawls through radio static, watches from the ridges, and waits. Some people come looking for proof. Some stumble onto it by accident. Others don’t understand what they’ve found until it’s already wearing their skin.
For years, mankind has watched the skies.
In Bellflower, the skies are watching back.
In collaboration with and based on an original concept by Nadine Stewart of House of the Macabre.
